Road to success is not always easy!
Location: Santa Fe Dam & San Diego DART launch area
Issues:
Motor failure due to a cracking of propellent that cause propellent to exploded 10 feet off the ground. We filled a form and send to Estes. They refunded the amount and we received 3 motors for every motor failed.
Burnt a hole in parachute We reattempted with same batch of motor and led to another failure. And a hole was burnt in the parachute.
Fin broke : We used epoxy glue to attach the fin.
Engine bulkhead broke We glued in a new bulkhead and pushed from the top functionally.
Motor mount failure: tube has a ring that prevents the motor from sliding up. pushed the motor mound hook up. Remedy: Used epoxy to glue motor mount. Used a bulkhead that is smaller than We put a bandage to hold the screw in.
Issues: Our fin broke after the launch, on the way down.Rail button: We forgot rail button so we purchased rail button from payload section detached. purchased rail button at the store. If there was no store by, we would have lost and launch window.
Parachute deploy failure: parachute failed to deploy as it got stuck to the rail button.
Landing: Our final qualification flight landed onto a puddle making the rocket unable to fly.
